Something different

To simply put it, i like this. Flowers are not so much my thing but lately there has been quite a few nice photographs (like this one) being pointed my way.
Having a look through your gallery beforehand, as the title suggest, i believe this is something different for you. For someone who focuses on portraiture and landscape, i think the this is quite good for "something different".
The thing i like about this the most is the area in which you have chosen to keep focused and the proportion of the flower to the background. i like the contrast that can be seen in the petals of the middle/main (facing outwards) flower.
Im not a fan of the lighting in the background but im sure lots of people like it. I imagine due to your other photography that it may be the light reflecting off snow and i think it is a little too bright for me. I do however like that it sort of curls around the flower around the right bottom corner.
